Woman of Excellence

Woman of the Year

Top Ten Nominee

Judith Testori
2008 Woman of the Year

A Woman of the Year is chosen each year to represent her chapter.  This individual is chosen based on unselfishly giving her time to ABWA.  Each chapter defines the criteria necessary for the nominees, utilizes National’s information, or a combination of the two. The chapter’s Woman of the Year represents the chapter in ABWA and community activities.  Women of the Year are honored annually at the Houston Area Council’s Woman of the Year Luncheon and at the Woman of the Year/Top Ten luncheon at all Spring Conferences and the National Women’s Leadership Conference.

Each year chapters emphasize the outstanding achievement and contributions members make by electing a chapter Woman of the Year that is the personification of the Tomball Charter Chapter. To be eligible for nomination of chapter Woman of the Year, a member must:

  1. Be female
  2. An ABWA Tomball Chapter member for at least 1 year
  3. A member in good standing locally and nationally
  4. A current/past chapter officer or current/past committee chair
  5. Have made a major contribution in time or effort to the group

Judy is shy on the outside, yet outgoing, thorough, and a “doer” on the inside. Though quiet and observant, while raising her hand to participate in various activities, she is always present at meetings and events. She has grown throughout the years by learning to speak up and speak out. She’s been an officer, chaired committees, a team player, and can always be counted on to be there. Judy wants to make a difference in the Tomball Charter Chapter, in ABWA, and most importantly, in her life. In her career she makes a difference in other’s lives as she markets her business. She has been an ABWA member since 1999 and served as the Chapter’s First Woman of Distinction. As the Tomball Charter Chapter Woman of the Year, s he will attend the Houston Area Council’s Woman of the Year Luncheon where she will stand proudly for the Tomball Charter Chapter among all the Houston area Woman of the Year honorees and be recognized for Tomball’s belief in her. It is because of her wonderful perseverance and her love and dedication to the Tomball Charter Chapter that she received this designation.
