Diane Holland
2008 Top Ten Nominee

A Top Ten Candidate is chosen each year through an outside judging process or by a Chapter vote.  Once chosen, this individual submits her biography to the National headquarters.  Ten women from across the country are chosen to represent ABWA for the year.  Out of these ten women, one woman is chosen as ABWA’s American Business Woman of the Year.  All ten of the National honorees demonstrate how involvement in ABWA has contributed to their significant achievements.  These ten women are honored within their Chapters and at Spring Conferences and the National Women’s Leadership Conference.

To be the chapter Top Ten Candidate, a member must:

  1. Be female
  2. An ABWA Tomball Chapter member for at least 3 years as of May 15 of the nomination year
  3. A member in good standing locally and nationally
  4. A current/past chapter officer or current/past committee chair
  5. Be a primary member of the Tomball Charter Chapter
Diane has been a member of the Chapter since 2004. She came gallantly on the scene, swooping in and soaring ever since. She is not usually one to be out of her comfort zone because she’s comfortable in any zone. She has taught the members of ABWA as much as any ABWA member has taught her. While stepping out, she found a love and commitment to the Tomball Charter Chapter. She’ll be the first in a crowd to tell someone about ABWA, and she’ll be the last one leaving, still discussing the organization. She has presented programs that left members in tears or in laughter (who could ever forget her tattooed belly?) She participated in the District II Spring Conference in The Woodlands, has served as Audit Committee Chair, and is serving as website liaison this year. She is a friend, a mentor, a confidant, and if necessary, a critique, but always done with love. She was named a past Business Associate for ABWA for always being willing to make sure the community knew about the Tomball Charter Chapter of ABWA. Her ability to positively influence others and accomplish goals sets her above the amazing. She is a born leader and a woman of ethics and integrity. In 1988, prior to the formation of the Tomball Charter Chapter of ABWA, Diane was named Tomball’s first Woman of Excellence by the Tomball Business & Professional Women, an organization which she co-founded in 1979.
