ABWA Membership Benefits
On a national level, being a member of the American Business Women's Association gives our local members privileges and benefits they would not get elsewhere. With elective participation in The Company Connection, our members are able to reach a wide audience of other ABWA members across the country who may be looking for their services. There are educational, travel, and insurance benefits available, as well as national recognition opportunities. Please visit the National ABWA web site to find out more about the benefits of joining the American Business Women's Association!
The Tomball Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is very active on the national level. Our very own Vickie Butler-Rindos was chosen as a National Top Ten in 2003! We actively support our District Vice-President and District II candidates running for national offices. Along with the Humble Artesian, The Woodlands, and the Greenspoint Chapters, we co-sponsored the 2005 District II Spring Conference held in The Woodlands, Texas.
On a local level, our chapter is a member of the Houston Area Council of ABWA and the Federation of Houston Professional Women. The Tomball Charter Chapter provides benefits not only for the self-employed entrepreneur, but for men and woman striving to achieve excellence in whatever career he/she has chosen, as well as non-employed men and women, and stay-at-home moms and dads. We offer a strong support network through monthly membership meetings and community events, as well as educational opportunities that apply to our personal and professional lives. We have scholarships and grants available each year. Our membership consists of students, retired persons, men and women who are well into a career of their choice.
To join the Tomball Charter Chapter of the ABWA, you must also join the national organization. Traditional national membership dues are $75, while national student dues are $30 annually, and members age 65 and over pay $35 annually. Express Network membership in our national organization is $100 annually and the Company Connection is a $50 add-on service. We encourage you to explore our web site, and our National ABWA web site, to find out the many different ways that national and local membership can benefit you, both personally and professionally.
Since each of our members is unique, with different interests and needs, ABWA offers options for every professional at each phase of his or her career. Whether you are actively seeking to advance to the next level, or to stay current with business trends and skills; whether you dream of breaking out on your own or are running your own business; whether you are looking to stay active in retirement, are a stay-at-home mom or dad ready to reconnect, or are a full-time student looking to explode onto the job scene, ABWA has a membership option that is right for you. If you have reached or are approaching the retirement phase of your career, after you join ABWA as a basic member, you can choose to affiliate with a local PrimeTime Connection® chapter.
The Tomball Charter Chapter of ABWA begins its year on August 1. Annual dues for the Chapter year are payable in July in the amount of $30. To find out more about membership, please contact Linda Ortiz, Membership Chair, at 832-797-2532 or click here to send her an e-mail.(ortiz@dollardoctor.biz)
